The burnout syndrome is a recently created emotional disorder that is linked to the workplace, the stress caused by work both as a Manager or an employee. This syndrome can have very serious consequences, both physically and psychologically.
The most common symptoms are depression and anxiety, reasons for the vast majority of sick leave.
The burnout syndrome tends to appear, in most cases, in people who have chosen their trade in a vocational way (it is very common in nursing, medicine, entrepreneurs and teachers) and with less assiduity in jobs that are performed on a compulsory basis. Although at first the manifestations and discomfort only extend to working life, finally they also reach, in almost all situations, the social and family life of the affected worker.
The main trigger for burnout syndrome is the work environment and working conditions. The person who has the syndrome is continuously exposed to, among others, high levels of stress, excessive workload, little or too much autonomy, bad relationships at work and lack of support in their environment, lack of training to perform tasks, etc. You can end up suffering from chronic stress that ends up causing burnout. For this reason, the link between stress and burnout is very strong.
