A belated Happy New Year to all the readers of The Handelot Times, along with anyone who reads the old hands column.
It has been a strange 2022 for me, and I guess the same for you. While I think we have all settled into what appears to be a world that is getting back to what was our perception of normal before the Covid Pandemic, I know my year was pretty great; at the same time, we have been bombarded by the mainstream media with reports of financial devastation, environmental catastrophe, world war, massive immigration issues and the possible return of Covid, the list is endless, so what should we expect for the coming year given all these mixed emotions?
Well, you are probably already aware by now that I do not believe everything I hear from or see in the mainstream media, and I would encourage you all to go out into the big wide world and do your research.
Don’t allow yourself to live a complacent life of being looked after by your governments and fed with the information they want you to hear. Go and gather your information from all sources, collate that information along with what you are hearing from the mainstream media and form your own opinion. Don’t allow your opinions to be diluted with a one-sided argument that creates a consensus within the majority. Whilst you lay in a state of chaos and confusion, your desire for a solution is so intense that you will put your trust anywhere and without logic to remove that fear; this is self-delusional.
