The Old Hand: the new normal

We are in the eye of the storm. Even if in most countries the Covid-19 pandemic mortality rates seem to be falling, the real question arises: will it return? Well I think the answer to that question is that it has never left and there is a good possibility that it will return in a second wave. Until a vaccine becomes available, in fact, it will be necessary for us all to adapt to living with Covid-19 within the so called “New Normal”.
I believe that future lock downs will not involve the closing down of entire countries, rather the isolation of defined areas within countries that are receiving high volumes of new cases.
The world has learnt a lot from the first wave. It has also thrown a huge amount of financial recourses at the Pandemic. Governments are no longer in a position where they can indefinitely financially support continuous complete lock downs, so we all have to adapt and learn how to manage and live with Covid-19 in our lives.
As just said, a new phrase has been coined - “The New Normal” - and we have to look at that in depth and detail and adapt it to our own lives, more importantly our own work environment and business. Due to Covid-19, it is very likely that we will all experience a lasting global recession and as with all recessions there will be winners and there will be losers. It’s our job as individual business creators and owners to make sure that we are one of the former side!
