The Old Hand: what is your worth?
I feel very fortunate in my life to have been raised in a farming community.

I feel very fortunate in my life to have been raised in a farming community.
The reason I feel fortunate is that in general farmers do not believe that they are restricted in what they can achieve or what they can do.
It is almost like farmers’ instinctive nature, combined with the inquisitive manner of a farmer to learn every trade that he or she is presented with. This type of education is normally self-taught or passed on from previous generations. It also empowers the individual with an immense amount of self confidence combined with an intense desire to acquire more knowledge and grow.
During my lifetime I have had but a few job interviews. My career path has normally presented itself to me, merely as an opportunity, which I have grasped and ran with.
